Samuel Adams Summer Ale

Photobucket

Since it is Summer, I thought I might try out a seasonal brew from Sam Adams. The lable says, "Wheat ale brewed with lemon and grains of paradise." Lemons and Grains of Paradise?! It has to be delightful! By no means is this a fruity, citrus beer. Sorry ladies.

These were uncharted waters for me. My first Sam Adams Summer Ale. I must say, I was a little disappointed with my first sip after reading it was brewed with lemons and grains of paradise. You better come out with something a little stronger and more deliscious than that, advertising your ingrediants are from paradise! But upon further examination, it started to grow on me. It doesn't have a strong taste, but it is far from "piss water." And it leaves a fairly decent after taste. The major downfall to this brew... it MUST be cold. Not just fairly cold.. but cold. Otherwise, it tastes kinda funky.

Just a cool little side note... it has a notch in the month that the beer will expire, right on the face of the bottle. So you know you're drinking fresh beer!

My final review... Not a party beer. More the type to have one or two with dinner. Wouldn't make it my daily drinker.
